NEWS FLASH: First one to pull a 2013 SP Authentic Autographed Shadow Box in my store wins $100.00 at Sports Cards Plus!Due in Tuesday about 3 p.m. is 2013 SP Authentic Football. SP Authentic has a devoted following and the parallel Rookie-Patch-Autographs (RPA) remain one of the most hotly desired cards in the hobby.
EVERY BOX of SP Authentic will include one RPA (numbered 325 or 650). Many of the more desired rookies are number to 650. The RPA Rookie Cards also have silver parallels numbered to 25 and the gold parallel (which used to be #d/25) will now be a 1/1 RPA. With one RPA per box, production of 2013 SPA has been limited to 1627 cases or less.
The “Shadow Box” cards are back and you will find the non-autographed version falling about two per case. The autographed variations are EXTREMELY rare. The “Group A” autos fall one in every 20,983 packs ( Aaron Rodgers, Barry Sanders, Dan Marino, John Elway, Joe Montana, Joe Namath, Jerry Rice) and the “Group B” autos fall one in every 10,880 packs (DeAndre Hopkins, Eddie George, EJ Manuel, Tavon Austin).
The “Sign of the Times” set is back with single player autographs, dual autographs, and much rarer triple and quad autos (#d/9 and #d/3). Finally, we have the SP Threads Signature Jersey cards. These will be found in the SP Threads “box-topper” packs (average one in three boxes). These are mostly rookies but also include NFL Hall of Famers.
