2018 Topps Diamond Icons Baseball

2018 Topps Diamond Icons Baseball ($1399 per box) arrives Wednesday at Sports Cards Plus.  A 10-Spot Box Group Break will take place as soon as we fill the ten spots.  Every spot will get one random card from a factory sealed box.

As the price tag suggests, this is a super premium product, with the look and feel of sheer elegance. Each Ten-card pack has seven autographs, two autographed relics and one relic card. Every autograph is either on-card or comes in the form of a cut signature. All cards in 2018 Topps Diamond Icons Baseball are numbered to 25 or less.

2018 Topps Diamond Icons Baseball — The Autographs

The signatures start with a standard run of autographs that are done with a clean design.
Red Ink Autographs take a similar approach but with a horizontal design. Both of these come with Purple (#d/10), Red (#d/5) and Gold (1/1) parallels.
Diamond Autographs display yet another horizontal design with Purple (/10), Red (/5) and Gold (1/1) parallels to go along with the base versions.
Every other box of 2018 Topps Diamond Icons Baseball has a cut signature card. Regular ones have four copies each plus a one-of-one Gold parallel. Immortal Cut Signatures are also available.
The two-per-box signature relics start with Autographed Authenticated Jumbo Patches have no more than 25 copies each plus and have Purple (#d/10), Red (#d/5) and Gold (1/1) parallels.
The remaining autographed memorabilia cards come with different combinations of one and two swatches. Single-player cards have basic autograph relics, dual relics with two swatches from the same team and dual relics highlighting them with two different players. Finally, there are Dual Player Dual Autograph Relics that spotlight two players. All of these different combinations have no more than ten copies each along with Red (/5) and Gold (1/1) versions.

Memorabilia Cards

Relics come in a few forms in 2018 Topps Diamond Icons Baseball. Many are unique pieces of uniforms and gear. Single-Player Relics are, for base versions, no more than ten copies exist of each individual card. This includes Red (/5) and Gold (1/1) parallels.
Dual-Player Dual Relics (/10) come in the form of book cards.
Preeminent Pieces Relics (/10) return with cleat swatches. The only parallels for these are one-of-one Spikes version that go to the bottom of the player’s footwear.
A big fan favorite and sure to demand high secondary market value are MLB Silhouetted Batter Logo Patches, all of which have just one copy each.
Rounding out the collection are Diamond Relics (/10). These don’t have game-used gear but they do have four diamonds embedded into the card. Parallels include Red (/5) and Gold (1/1).  The Shohei Ohtani Diamond Relic is sure to be one of his highest demand Rookie Cards.
